A spokesman for Block Con - which is the first event of its kind in the city - said: “We aim to bring a great Lego shopping experience, with over a dozen of the countries leading independent Lego retailers attending, giving you a chance to buy those collectable sets and minifigures you’ve been looking for, and providing pocket money treats for the children, as well as giving you a chance to pick up original items that you would be unable to find anywhere else.

“And what kind of Block event would it be without a room full of fantastic models built by some of the countries leading Lego modellers? From fantasy scenes and sci-fi goodness, through to classic Lego themes, with large city layouts, classic space and highly collectable sets.”

Kevin Hyatt, of Sheffield Lug, said: “It’s a pleasure to be able to let the people of the Sheffield City Region see great custom Lego creations by some of the UK’s best Master Builders.

“There will be plenty to do and see on the day for the whole family including building pits, competitions, activities, displays, mosaic building and much more.”
