CHILDREN in Sheffield will learn how to be model citizens.
Youngsters living on the city’s Manor estate are taking part in a programme that teaches them how to become valuable members of the community.
The scheme, called Community Champions, is being run by housing group Places for People. A group of 10 children between the ages of eight and 12 will be working with neighbourhood officers, the police and fire service over the next six weeks covering topics such as litter, vandalism and crime. The project’s aim is to encourage them to take pride in where they live.
