PLACE Detectives - Out and About is a new course from the Doncaster branch of the Workers’ Educational Association which will uncover fascinating stories about local buildings and landscapes.

Historian Sarah Holland will lead the voyage of discovery, which begins with a mystery tour of Doncaster on May 10, meeting outside Doncaster railway station at 10.30am.

A full list of 10 visits and travel information will be available at the first meeting and the full fee is £60, although it is reduced to only £3 for people receiving certain benefits.

Joint concert

Doncaster Wheatsheaf Singers and Barnburgh Male Voice Choir are joining forces to perform in concert at St Laurence and St Jude’s Church, Scawsby, on Saturday, May 7 at 7.30pm. Tickets for the concert, including refreshments, are available from choir members or £5 on the door.
