Visitors to the Peak Park can find out more about efforts to protect rare birds on a guided walk.

Numbers of ring ouzels - the upland cousin of the blackbird - are up at Stanage-North Lees, near Hathersage, because of a project involving climbers, ramblers and birdwatchers.

Warden Bill Gordon is leading the walk, where people can find out more about the work, on June 14 from 8am to 1pm. Meet at Hollin Bank car park. Call 01629 816270 to book.
