A LAW firm is set to sponsor a sporting event for people with disabilities in Barnsley.

Irwin Mitchell today confirmed it will be the official sponsor of the Rotary District Disabled Games 2013, which will be held at the Barnsley Metrodome.

Barnsley Rotary’s Kathy Markwick said: “This is a fantastic coup, not just for our club but for Rotary in general and especially for Barnsley. The Disabled Games is quite a big event.”

The event, which takes place on April 14 next year, will see teams of disabled people from Sheffield, Barnsley, Scunthorpe, Grimsby and other areas in Yorkshire come together to compete in a series of sporting challenges. It is organised by all the rotary clubs in the region.
