PM Law solicitors, based near Tinsley, decided to pay for a roller disco for Sheffield Young Carers Project, a charity which supports children who provide unpaid care to sick and disabled relatives.

Staff also bought an extra present each when out shopping in December to help ensure every young carer wakes up with at least one gift to open on Christmas morning.

The roller disco at Skate Sheffield proved to be a huge success with a surprise visit from Father Christmas who came laden with a presents for the young carers.

PM Law chairman Donald Mackay said that everyone at the company had been keen to help.

“As a family-orientated business, we’re only too happy to help a charity which is so dedicated to supporting young carers across the city,” he said.

“The charity ensures young carers are recognised in their role and have the same opportunities as other children of a similar age.

“With this in mind the team was very keen to make a contribution as the charity’s ethos really resonates with everyone.”

Katie Borland, director of funding and external relations at Sheffield Young Carers, said: “Christmas can be a particularly hard time for young carers who are working hard to support their families – their caring role goes on, whatever the season.

“It has been fantastic to be able to treat them to an extra-special Christmas party this year, and the donated gifts are quite incredible.

“On behalf of all the young carers and families we support, we can’t thank PM Law enough.”
