An open day for prostate cancer patients and their families is to take place in Sheffield next month.

The Weston Park Cancer Information and Support Centre on Northumberland Road is to host the event between 10am and 3pm on Thursday, January 15.

It will encourage men with prostate cancer to access all the dedicated services that Sheffield and the surrounding areas have to support them living with the disease.

The event is being funded by Prostate Cancer UK. Specialist medical staff, along with welfare advisors and representatives of the Relate counselling service, will be in attendance.

It follows Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recently winning a Patient Safety and Care Award for Cancer Care. For more information, call 0114 226 5666.
