A wall was demolished after a two-car crash in a Sheffield suburb.

A silver Jaguar XJ and a silver Peugeot 206 crashed in Chesterfield Road, close to the junction with The Dale, Woodseats, at around 3.40am today.

The brickwork of a wall close to Rodeo Joe's and the Curry Lounge restaurants was damaged as a result of the crash.

Two people travelling in the Peugeot were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A man travelling in the Jaguar has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Reports of two car collision on Chesterfield Road came in to us at about 3.40am this morning.

"A silver Peugeot 206 and a silver Jaguar XJ are believed to have been involved in the collision, which resulted in damage to a building on the street.

"Two people travelling inside the Peugeot were taken to hospital to be treated for suspected minor injuries.

"A man travelling in the Jaguar has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving."
