Later opening at bar opposed

Have your say

RESIDENTS of city flats are objecting to plans for a bar to open until 4am each morning.

Steelhouse, on West Street, is applying for permission to extend its hours which are currently 2.30am Sundays to Thursdays and 3.30am Fridays to Saturdays.

The venue wants to open until 4am daily.

Objections to the plans have been made by residents, backed by Green Party councillor Rob Murphy due to fears of more late night noise.

Sheffield Council’s environmental health department said current hours should remain apart from Fridays and Saturdays, when a slightly later closing time of 4am would be ‘acceptable’.

The authority’s licensing committee will make a decision on Thursday.
