It is being launched by bus operator First in partnership with the University of Sheffield after a survey of 500 students showed a demand for a late night bus service.

Allan Riggall, head of commercial at First, said: "We're pleased to be bringing this new late night bus service to Sheffield University students. We’ve listened to feedback from students and we’re working together with the Students’ Union and Sheffield Bus Partnership to provide a safe, cheap, and easy way for students to get home after a night out.”

Councillor George Lindars-Hammond, a member of the Sheffield City Region Transport Committee, said: "I was pleased to facilitate and support a new relationship between First South Yorkshire and student leaders in Sheffield.

"As a council, we are committed to a safe and enjoyable experience for students in the city and this new service shows what can be achieved when we work in partnership for better bus services.”

Single tickets will cost just £1 and Student Week, 4Week and Term tickets will also be valid on the service.
