Landlord ends up in court after throwing his tenant out on the streets

Shocked Simon Jenkins returned home late at night to find the locks on his flat in Sheldon Road, Nether Edge, had been changed and all his belongings had gone.

The 32-year-old ended up sleeping on the street in freezing temperatures because he had no idea where to turn.

But Simon - who now plans to take civil action against ex-landlord Martin John Nelson - has got his own back following a successful prosecution at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.

Nelson, aged 45, of Sheldon Road, admitted illegally evicting a tenant and was fined 500, and was also ordered to pay 500 in costs.
