LADIES who lunch have raised more than £11,000 for children with special needs through a series of fundraising meals.
Sheffield charity Amy’s House holds ladies’ festive lunches every year at Whirlowbrook Hall, featuring live music, shopping and a three-course dinner.
The respite facility, based at Handsworth, looks after more than 50 children with conditions including autism, ADHD, epilepsy, Down’s syndrome and Asperger’s, as well as physical and mental conditions.
It currently operates during weekends and school holidays, but the charity hopes to purchase a permanent home available to families all year round.
The lunches were in their 22nd year and attracted ladies from across Yorkshire.
