A Doncaster man who walked coast to coast has raised £740 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Kris Watson, aged 40, a community psychiatric nurse team leader for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, walked from near White Haven on the west coast to Robin Hood’s Bay on the east, covering 192 miles.
The walk took Kris, of Bawtry, through three national parks and took him 12 days.
He said: “Because of the job I do in older people’s mental health, where around 70 per cent of the patients have dementia, I decided to do this walk and raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. I want to thank everyone who sponsored me and helped me to raise such an amazing amount. Every penny will now go towards helping those who have the condition.”
