This fascinating mix-up of history can be explored within the grounds of the medieval-era Lodge’s Tudor ruins as part of the ‘History Through The Ages’ event between 11am and 4pm on Saturday, June 4.

Visitors can expect to see historical characters such as Celtic brigantes living alongside Civil War roundheads, Napoleonic soldiers and people from the 1940s.

Attractions include living camps, information displays and weaponry. There will be a chance to talk to re-enactors, dress up in costumes and take part in children’s drills.

Visitors can also handle weapons and armour as well as enjoying a bouncy castle and face painting for children.

Event organiser David Templeman said: “Following on from the unfortunate demise of the enormously popular re-enactment at Sheffield Fayre, held annually at Norfolk Heritage Park, we thought it only fitting that a similar event should be continued here at Sheffield Manor Lodge.

“The event being held on a historic site like ours will help lend an authentic feel to what is going on.”
