Killer jailed for attacking man on kidney dialysis machine in Rotherham

A killer who punched a Rotherham man to death while he was on a kidney dialysis machine has been jailed for 12 years.

Adam Gordon Goodridge, aged 30, of Huntington Way, Maltby, was jailed today after being found guilty of manslaughter following a trial.

He attacked 38-year-old Paul Sandford, also known as Paul Dyson, while he was asleep and hooked up to a kidney dialysis machine in his house in Littlehey Close, Maltby, in the early hours of Friday, October 30, last year.Sheffield Crown Court heard that Goodridge accused Mr Sandford of being a paedophile - allegations which South Yorkshire Police said were 'unfounded'.

He told his victim that if he did not move away from the area within a week he would kill him.But Goodridge then began his attack immediately and took a photograph of Mr Sandford's injuries.Goodridge told Mr Sandford's friends to tell paramedics that he had fallen in the bath.He was admitted to hospital with a bleed on the brain, a fractured eye socket, and severe cuts and bruising to his face and hands.He died in hospital five days later.CCTV footage captured Goodridge leaving Mr Sandford's house on the night of the attack.
