CHILDREN enjoyed a simply splashing time at an Oceans of Fun Day held at the Rotherham Leisure Complex.
Youngsters aged seven to 14 had a chance to meet some of the country’s top athletes and experience five aquatic sports for themselves.
The event, organised by swimwear brand Zoggs, was aimed at introducing youngsters to waterborne sports showcased in next year’s Olympics.
Those featured included diving, rookie lifeguarding, synchro to fast swimming, snorkelling and water polo.
Double Olympian and Commonwealth champion swimmer Chris Cook hosted the day, supported by the GB men’s water polo captain Craig Figes and British synchronised swimmer Lucy Bowes.
After an opportunity to try each discipline, the children had a chance to race the Olympians before receiving prizes for outstanding performance, medals and goody bag.
