Kerry Needham's new appeal - Tell us where Ben is buried

Appearing on Good Morning Britain with Ben’s grandmother Christine and his sister Leigh-Anna, Ben’s mother Kerry said while the family now accept Ben has died, they hope to have the chance to lay him to rest.

She said: “We know for a fact there are people on Kos who know what happened to Ben that day.

“The police have got witness statements from some people. We still believe that there are other people on the island that know where he is.

“We have to keep this investigation going. We need people still supporting us. We need pressure still putting on the Greek police and Greek authorities. There are people on Kos that know what happened and probably know where Ben is buried.”

Kerry also thanked members of the public for their support during the family’s heartbreaking 25-year search to find the missing Sheffield toddler, who disappeared in Kos in July 1991.

She said: “The support they have shown, the messages we have had from everybody, it really has given us drive and strength to know that we are not alone out there.”

Ben’s family always believed he had been abducted but in June a man told the police his friend, who died last year, could have accidentally crushed Ben while he was clearing a building plot.

Police officers from South Yorkshire spent three weeks earlier this year excavating the area. Detectives did not find his body but did discover a toy car believed to have belonged to Ben and said in October they now believe Ben died in an accident but the investigation would continue.
