Kell Brook dearly wants to '˜punch Amir Khan in the face'

If Kell Brooks takes half the aggression he feels against Amir Khan into the ring when he faces Kevin Bizier, the Canadian title contender is in for an extraordinarily painful night.

A Brook v Bizier press conference at Sheffield United’s ground pretty much skirted around Brook’s third IBF welterweight defence, at the city’s Arena, where he and Bizier will lock horns on March 26.

There were more mentions of the faltering negotiations with Khan’s camp for a planned Summer showdown at Wembley, which would attract 80,000 fight fans, world wide attention - and ten million dollars for ‘The Kid From Bolton,’ as he was described.

Brook’s camp have offered 60 per cent of the purse - something the Sheffield fighter is not deliriously happy about, as it is.

But it’s no incentive for Khan, who wants an even bigger slice of the cake.

In the war of words that has been going on, Brook came up with the most direct contribution, at the media call.

“He has got no respect for me. It makes me want to punch him in the face even harder.”

Until that time arrives - and it may never do - Brook has to focus on his next opponent and in Bizier he sees somebody resembling himself. “He is coming to challenge for the world title.

“This is his chance, I know the feeling -like when I went over to America (beating Shawn Porter for the title.)

“He is going to bring everything that he has got. This is world championship boxing at its best.

“My feet are on the ground, it will be all guns blazing.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn has issued a promise that a big fight will be held at Bramall Lane, at some stage in the future.
