The match is to take place at Rotherham United’s New York Stadium on Sunday, May 1, from 2pm to support both Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Nick Blackwell, who has been in an induced coma after collapsing at the end of last Saturday’s British middleweight title defeat by Chris Eubank Jr.

Kell Brook will be a manager of one of the teams, while the likes of Junior Witter and Ross Burkinshaw are signed up to take part alongside celebrities such as Dane Bowers and Dean Gaffney.

Tickets are already on sale for the game, priced at £5 for standard admission and £20 for VIP entry, involving meeting the celebrities taking part in the event.

Organiser Mike Gabbitas said the game had been arranged for a while but after Blackwell’s injury at the weekend, the boxers taking part wanted to show their support for him as well.
