Jurors in the trial of a caretaker accused of causing the death of a two-year-old girl, who fell to her death from a Sheffield block of flats, are to spend a third day deliberating.

Robert Warner, aged 45, who was a part-time caretaker at the North Bank flats off the Wicker, denies manslaughter by gross negligence.

Ryaheen Banimuslem died in June 2012 after she fell through a gap in a walkway on the fourth floor while playing with her brother.

It is alleged Warner, of Shirehall Crescent, Shiregreen, failed to replace a missing glass panel on the walkway.

He denies the offence and says he didn’t know the panel was missing.
