The Junior Police Commmunity Support Officer scheme is now being rolled out to the Wheatley area of Doncaster and is recruiting children to sign up to the free 12-week scheme.

It will be open to a dozen young people, aged between 10 and 13, who live in Wheatley.

They will meet once a week and take part in a variety of different activities, events and sessions, ranging from understanding antisocial behaviour to road safety.

PCSO Selena Cooke said: “We look forward to speaking with any young people who have an interest in public services or community work at an introductory session in St Andrew’s Church Hall, Morley Road, on Thursday, January 17, at 4.30pm.”
