Congratulations are in order for a number of Doncaster Rovers Junior season ticket holders who were prize winners in a special draw made by the club.
Earlier this season Doncaster Rovers announced that all of its junior season ticket holders would be entered into a draw to win a club experience prize that money can’t buy.
The lucky junior season ticket winners were Christopher Gambles, Claire Brown, Max Sillito, Aaron Roe and Aidan Smith.
They were all invited to the stadium to take part in a question and answer session with members of the player squad.
In addition the prize included a VIP stadium tour, followed by the chance to get up close and personal with some of the Doncaster Rovers playing squad and of course own Donny Dog.
The youngsters also posed the questions that they’ve always wanted to ask the players, participated in some fun and games activities with them and got those all-important snaps with their favourite players and the League 1 Champions Trophy.
The players provided some valuable advice for some of the budding footballers and sports enthusiasts, including Aaron Roe who plays for the Doncaster Rovers Academy in the u11’s.
Paul Keegan told them: “The most important thing to remember is to enjoy playing football, and as long you enjoy it then you need to keep working hard and never give up”
Joshua Meade added: “When somebody tells you you’re not good enough, you have to keep on going until you prove them wrong. I was released from Scunthorpe’s academy but I didn’t give in and luckily it paid off when I was picked for Doncaster Rovers.
“Look at Rob Jones, he was a teacher before he started his football career. So it’s never too late to make it even if you haven’t been picked out for academy at a young age.”
The young season ticket holders prize day also involved challenging the players to a host of games including pool, ice hockey and table tennis followed by an access all areas stadium tour.
As a special memento of this extra special day a signed photo will be available for the participants to collect from main reception from the 15th November.
