The free events, from August 13 to 17, will be held at Dinnington and Kiveton, near Sheffield and Rotherham, Bentley and Brodsworth, near Doncaster, and Thurnscoe, near Barnsley.

The new areas of woodland are owned by the Land Restoration Trust, but managed by the Forestry Commission.

Youngsters will get the chance to have a go at stilt walking, juggling, plate spinning, diablo and many other circus skills. Ranger Helen Walton said: “All that’s needed is a sense of fun and enthusiasm. With a bit of practice, children will soon be impressing mates with their new big top tricks"

The events run between 11am and 1pm and booking is required on 01302 820278.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
