JURORS in the case of a man accused of raping and sexually assaulting a teenage dog walker have heard all the evidence in the case.

Kevin Wood, aged 35, of Ward Street, Penistone, Barnsley, has been deemed unfit to stand a criminal trial but a jury must decide whether or not he ‘did the act’.

The alleged attack took place in May 2010 in Hoylandswaine, when the victim was 16.

She claimed she was attacked in a woodland area by a man who growled at her as she took her dog for a walk.

Wood was apprehended by police after a local resident recognised him.

Yesterday the jury heard closing speeches from the prosecution and the defence.

On Monday, Judge Simon Lawler QC will sum up the evidence and the jury will go out to make a decision.
