The lack of a ‘Plan B’ is a criticism that has often been thrown at Wednesday over the past couple of years and Luhukay - though left with fewer option to fix that due to injuries - has insisted there will be no rigid formation when the season kicks off again in August.

“We must have more flexibility in the future,” he said. “There are periods in the season where you don’t want to let opponents know how you play. There are times when you want them to be surprised by the way that we play.

“I think that is the way for the new season also that we don’t play the same system or in the same tactics. There must be variations. We must be flexible in the way we play to come to success.”
