Jordanthorpe health centre

Yesterday morning (August 1) I had an appointment at Jordanthorpe Health Centre.

However, as we approached it was clear that it was impossible to drive anywhere near as Sheffield council had closed every road leading to and from the health centre resurfacing the roads.

While I appreciate work needs doing, what on earth were management of the council thinking to completely cut off all access for patients to vital services such as this?

Disabled patients who usually park outside the health centre with a blue badge, as I have, were unable to attend as they could not get near the building in wheelchairs etc.

The surrounding streets were full of able-bodied patients who had parked their cars and walked to their appointments.

The cost of patients not being able to attend their appointments has a massive effect on the NHS.

Whoever made the decision from the council to close off all access roads to the health centre needs shooting.
