One man, Jama Ahmed, was jailed for a minimum of 36 years at Sheffield Crown Court last month after being found guilty of murder for his role in the killing.

Police today revealed people have come forward with ‘new information’ following Ahmed’s conviction.

Jordan’s murder was carried out by a Somali gang as a ‘revenge attack’ for the 2011 death of Mubarak Ali at the hands of Mr Thomas’ cousin James Knowles, who jailed for 10 years for manslaughter in 2012. During the case, it was revealed four men whose names and pictures have now been made public by police had fled the UK following the murder.

The men being sought by police include two brothers of Mubarak Ali – Mohammed Ali, 29, and Jamal Ali, 26.

Police have warned members of the public not to approach the men directly if they see them or know where they are.

Detective Chief Inspector Victoria Short, senior investigating officer for the inquiry, said: “One man has been held to account for what happened to Jordan, but there are a number of other people who we believe were involved who are evading arrest.

“Jordan was killed by the actions of a group of people working together.

“Jordan’s family were left utterly devastated when Jordan was killed in a pre-planned attack – it is our duty to get justice for them, and we continue to search for the other people involved.”

She added she is hopeful more people will come forward with information.

DCI Short said: “It’s fair to say there was a fear of coming forward around what happened to Jordan, but we’ve certainly seen that people are now increasingly coming forward to help the police since Ahmed was found guilty and jailed for his involvement.

“We’ve had people come forward with new information and I’d urge people to continue to have confidence in the police and tell us what you know.”

“Have you seen any of them recently? Do you know where they might be? Do you have information about Jordan’s death and who was involved?

“I’d urge anyone with information to come forward and tell us what you know – Jordan’s family deserve answers and they deserve justice.”

Judge Mr Justice Green told Ahmed as he sentenced him at Sheffield Crown Court: “I do not know whether or not you were the actual shooter and I am not sentencing you on the basis that you were.

“But I am quite clear that you were in the car and you were fully intent on participating in this cold-blooded execution.”

He added: “Most of your associates have now fled the country to evade justice.”
