Join top rockers in Sheffield Wednesday Charity Cup
Sheffield rockers Reverend and the Makers will be going for a change of pitch when they join in a city sporting challenge to help two local charities.
And you too could take your place alongside the top group’s Jon McClure and Ed Cosens, and your favourite players in the Sheffield Wednesday Charity Cup.
The unique city sports event raises money for St Luke’s Hospice and the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme.
On Saturday, March 25, two Sheffield Wednesday teams – both home and away sides - will battle it out in a bid to grasp the prestigious Charity Cup.
Reverend and the Makers’ front man and bass player will be there to do their bit.
“John and Ed are both big Wednesday fans and we are delighted that they are able to join us for this very special day,” said St Luke’s Corporate Fundraising Manager Jack Kidder.
To take part and play for Wednesday alongside John and Ed all you have to do is raise a minimum of £500 per person.
In return, players get full use of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club’s player facilities and changing rooms, will receive a SWFC kit, and a meal after the game for themselves and a guest in the 1877 suite. They will be given a souvenir team photograph from the day, and player’s medal.
Mr Kidder added: “This really is the perfect gift for a real Owls fan.
“It’s a truly unique opportunity to step out onto the famous Wednesday pitch and be part of a memorable sporting occasion.”
