We have had the Royal seal of approval for The Star’s 125th anniversary and now we are inviting you, our readers, to join in the celebrations.
Come and join editor Jeremy Clifford and members of The Star’s reporting team for a special event at Sheffield Town Hall tomorrow, September 26.
HRH The Duke of York visited The Star’s offices in York Street and thanked the team for its work.
It will be the first chance to take a look at our exhibition which celebrates 125 years of The Star bringing news to the people of Sheffield.
There are reminders of some of the biggest stories we have covered over the decades.
Readers will be able to see some of our most memorable front pages.
We have also picked out some of the city’s best sporting moments and members of our sports desk will be there to discuss your favourites.
We want to know what you love about your local newspaper and also any ideas or suggestions you may have for future editions.
The Lord Mayor of Sheffield Coun John Campbell will be joining in our celebrations and we would love you to drop in too.
It takes place in the Town Hall Reception Room from 2pm until 5pm so why not join us for a cup of tea and trip down memory lane with The Star.
Those coming along will even be a chance to try Late Star, the real ale created especially for our anniversary by Thornbridge Brewery.
