Joe Root back in to captain Yorkshire
Joe Root will step in to captain Yorkshire against Surrey starting today in his final county appearance before the international summer begins, the club have announced.
The England captain takes on the role in the absence of Yorkshire's club captain Gary Ballance, who is feeling unwell and is due to return home from London later in the day.
Yorkshire face Surrey at The Oval looking to make up ground on early Division One leaders Nottinghamshire.
