Joe Teixeira, chief executive of Harry Ramsden’s, said: “We relish this opportunity to enter into a new market and the great location, surroundings and reputation enjoyed by the Wingerworth make Chesterfield the ideal place from which to unveil our newest model and further extend the modern-day face of Harry’s to a new generation of customers.”

All of the Wingerworth’s current 20 members of staff will keep their jobs and Harry Ramsden’s team has been working with them for a few weeks while refurbishment work has taken place.

A Harry Ramsden’s spokesman said: “It is expected that as business increases at the Wingerworth then staff numbers will increase accordingly.”

This latest opening comes as a result of Harry Ramsden’s partnership with Punch Taverns.
