SHE’S becoming almost as famous as the Beckhams.

Sheffield’s very own athletics superstar Jessica Ennis is the star of TV adverts and is tipped for gold in the heptathlon at London 2012.

Now, as the countdown to next year’s Olympic Games hots up, Madame Tussauds has paid tribute to World Champion Heptathlete, by unveiling her new wax figure.

The figure, which took four months to complete and cost £150,000, portrays Jess in an iconic post-event celebration pose with her arms raised triumphantly as she proudly holds aloft a Union Jack flag.

And the real Jessica was blown away by her wax double.

Former King Ecgbert’s pupil Jessica, aged 25, of Millhouses, said: “I cannot believe just how realistic it is. They’ve got me down to a T.

“Every little detail is so accurate from the eyes, right down to my abs - it is quite strange to be looking at your exact double!”

Liz Edwards, PR Manager at the London-based waxworks, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jessica to the A-list line up of sports stars at Madame Tussauds London.

“With anticipation now well and truly building for next year it seems apt that one of the brightest sporting stars of the moment is claiming a place here.

“We are sure she will be a hit with our guests and expect a flood of fans clamouring to pose alongside her.”
