Jarvin Blake murder: Detectives receive 'lots of information' from Sheffield community

Detectives probing the murder of Sheffield dad-of-three Jarvin Blake have received 'lots of information' from residents in the community where he was killed.

Police have been stepping up their efforts to find the killer of the 22-year-old who was stabbed to death in Burngreave a month ago.

Police have said they believe the key to unlocking the case lies within the community and detective superintendent Una Jennings told how a lot of information has been 'flowing' into the murder inquiry.

She said: "We have had a really super response from the community here in Burngreave.

"Lots of information has been flowing into the inquiry and I would appeal to people out there to pick up the phone and have that conversation with police.

"We have to be part of a collective response to the criminality that we are seeing going on in our street and we can only do that in partnership with the local community here in Burngreave."

The 23-year-old said: "I need justice for Jarvin and I need to know who did this and why.

"We have three beautiful children. He was a fantastic dad who loved spending time with them and our son keeps asking when his daddy is coming home."

Police believe he was knifed after a car - believed to be a light blue Volvo - pulled up alongside him and he was chased by a gang of men who jumped out.

His friend he was with at the time was also injured but survived.
