The Kettering-based comic has also toured the country extensively, performed at the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival and in 2015 won the Best Breakthrough Act gong at the Chortle Awards.

This season, James is bringing his new show Reset to The Civic.

Reset is the third in a trilogy of high-concept shows that have already seen James pose as an undercover policeman and report back from jury duty, each time linking his conceit to genuine difficulties in his life: the former was about a post-breakup identity crisis, the latter dealt with his flailing faith.

By using observational comedy to cover maddeningly inconsequential things, James has refreshed the ‘have-you-ever-noticed’ format in his stand-up that has become hackneyed in recent years.

James Acaster: Reset is at The Civic on Friday, November 11, at 8pm. Tickets are £15 full price and £13 concessions.

The comedy continues at The Civic with Toby Foster’s Last Laugh Comedy Club.
