TWO thieves out on bail have been jailed after being caught breaching their terms in a Sheffield charity shop.
The Samaritans store on Chapel Walk has just installed a new CCTV system to deter shoplifters.
Recently two people on conditional bail – which banned them from entering retail premises – were spotted on camera and picked up immediately by police.
The charity says thefts from its shops across the country by organised groups stealing to order are rife.
A charity spokeswoman said: “The shop on Chapel Walk is Sheffield Samaritans’ main fundraiser – it provides the money to keep Samaritans on the phones.
“Samaritans want shoplifters to know the cameras are monitored constantly. We are prepared to prosecute and have the evidence to prove it.”
