Jack and Ross collect plaudits from Gold Coast

Sheffield's famous diving brothers Jack and Ross Haslam performed superbly for England at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia.

Ross narrowly missed out on a medal in the 3 metre springboard event taking 4th place with 432 points.

His top dive was a forward 2½ somersault with 2 twists that scored a massive 83 points.

Jack also dived well finishing the final in 8th place.

His best dive was a forward 3½ somersault achieving 71 points.

In windy conditions for the 1 metre springboard event, Ross came 7th and Jack 10th.

Jack and Ross also combined forces to compete in the 3 metre synchro event where they came 5th with a near personal best score.

Excellent execution and synchronisation saw them achieve 77 points with their inward 2½ somersault dive.

Accompanying the brothers to Australia, coach Tom Owens said: “Jack and Ross have represented Sheffield and England brilliantly both in the pool and as ambassadors for their sport.”
