It's Woolly Hat Day

As one of the UK's largest homelessness charities, we want to let your readers know about how they can help people who are homeless by simply putting on their favourite hat, making a donation and helping change someone's life.

St Mungo’s Woolly Hat Day takes place on Friday, and thousands of people will be donning beanies, baseball caps and berets and more to help us raise vital funds for our work.

Our St Mungo’s vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.

We provide a bed and support to more than 2,500 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and work to prevent homelessness, helping about 25,000 people a year.

This year we are aiming to raise £60,000, which would make a real difference to our services such as helping people off the streets.

Across the country, for example, people are using our unique hat cupcake recipe to bake cakes for us in schools, offices and in their homes at hat parties.

Up until Sunday, January 31, we are also holding an online celebrity hat auction where people can bid for celebrity hats – supported by our patron, TV property show presenter Phil Spencer.
