Some disappointed parents have reported that their children have been left devastated after opening up their Cadbury advent calendars to find them empty.

One parent tweeted Quality Street to say: “Today’s door was empty on your advent calendar....it’s probably ruined my sons day if not his whole life...he’s 12 and on the turn! Thanks for that!” A spokesperson from Cadbury’s said: “We would like to reassure people that quality is of paramount importance to us. We encourage any customers who have received an advent calendar that is not up to standard to speak to our customer care team.”
