CHATSWORTH House’s farmyard and adventure playground will be alive with frogs, bugs and beasties when it opens for the first time ever during the winter half-term next week.

Children can make crowns and frog masks to wear around the farmyard, animal lovers can hold guinea pigs, and at the weekends children with stronger stomachs can handle slithering snakes, spiders and other creepy crawlies.

The farmyard and adventure playground will be open from tomorrow to February 27, but Chatsworth House and garden will remain closed until the start of the 2011 season on March 13. Log on to for tickets.
