As a regular driver on the streets of Sheffield I thought I had seen it all. However, a drive up Carterknowle Road in recent days proved a shock.
As I paused at the temporary lights near the top, I witnessed enough equipment and labour deployed to build a major road. What was going on? Was the road being fixed? No all this labour and equipment was deployed to fix a small stretch of pavement.
And this was going on just 200 yards from Woodholm Road, which for years has been one of the worst in Sheffield for potholes and just 500 yards from another Sheffield shocker for potholes, Archer Road.
It just makes you shake your head in disbelief at what is going on in this city.
