Almost 500 people have already registered to North Lincolnshire Council’s successful collective switching scheme and are saving on average a whopping £189 a year.

Registrations open for the third round tomorrow (Tuesday April 1). With many tariffs coming to an end during April and following a winter of price rises, it is the perfect time to secure a better deal for your gas and electricity.

Collective switching offers households the opportunity to sign up to a scheme that allows an intermediary to enter an auction with energy companies on their behalf, to secure a discounted energy price.

Working with iChoosr, the UK’s leading provider of collective switching, residents have until midnight Monday 9 June to register for the scheme.

For more details or to register online visit www.northlincs.gov.uk/collective-switching or you can go to one of the registration sessions taking place over the next two months. Residents should bring their latest bill or annual energy statement.

Isle sessions take place:

Crowle library – Monday April 28, 2pm to 5pm

Epworth library – Friday May 2, 2pm to 5pm

Haxey library – Tuesday May 6, 10am to 12 noon

Councillor Nigel Sherwood (pictured), cabinet member for highways and neighbourhoods at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “The scheme so far has been a huge success with many people commenting on the huge savings they have made and how easy it is to switch. It makes sense with the continual rise in energy prices, to try and get the best deal possible. The beauty of this scheme is the more people that register, the greater the savings are.

“Registrations open Tuesday April 1 and people have until 9 June to register for this excellent money-saving energy scheme.”
