Isabella keeps alive a 114-year-old family tradition

BABY Isabella May Jefferies kept up a 114 year tradition at her christening in Doncaster.

Tiny Isabella, who was born in January, became the 41st child to be baptised in a gown which has been passed down through her family since 1893.

Parents Nicola, aged 32, and Ian, 33, were delighted to keep the tradition going during the service at Doncaster Minster.

Nicola said: “The gown is very long and Victorian in style and it was really special that Isabella wore it.”
