Heavy metal icons Iron Maiden brought their energetic stage presence to Sheffield last night.
Eye-catching pyrotechnics, an amazing stage and the appearance of Eddie the Head ensured the show was a hit to a packed house at Sheffield Arena.
The set-list included The Trooper - which was complete with singer Bruce Dickinson waving the Union Jack flag - Iron Maiden and Number of the Beast.
Wasted Years closed a set which lasted nearly two hours.
Worksop-born singer Dickinson declared his band's shows to be 'safe havens' for any colour, race or religion as the show briefly got political.
The shows were places, he said, 'sensible' Iron Maiden fans got respite from the 'clowns' who run the world.
The show was part of the band's Book of Souls World Tour, which is Iron Maiden's 16th studio album.
The tour continues in Leeds tonight and Newcastle on Sunday.
