Invincible Lemar is back on song for new Sheffield festival

CHART star Lemar is the latest big name to be added to the star-studded pop line up on the Real Radio main stage at Sheftival, it was announced today.

He has sold more than two million albums and had seven top 10 UK hits since he became a household name a decade ago on the TV talent show Fame Academy.

The 34-year-old English soul and R‘n’B singer is best known for hits including Dance (With U), 50/50, Another Day, If There’s Any Justice, Time to Grow, It’s Not That Easy and 2010 top 10, The Way Love Goes.

Now he is about to release his fifth studio album and promote new single, Invincible, at Sheftival.

The new festival of music, sport and culture, takes place across Don Valley, Sheffield, on Saturday and Sunday, August 4 and 5 - timed to celebrate Jessica Ennis competing in the heptathlon at the Olympics.

The Real Radio music stage line-up also includes Marcus Collins, The Noisettes, The Lightning Seeds and Toots & The Maytals.

Also on the bill are Macka B, Dodgy, The Beat, Selecter, Renegade Brass Band, The Crookes, Kanda Bongo Man, Balkan Bandits, Jungle Lion, Carmen Ghia & The Hot Rods, Laura Steel, Sour Cherry, Nisha Lall Bollywood Dance, Sheffield Samba Band and Noise Blasters.

“He is an artist at the top of his game and someone we all want to see live.

“Sheftival is going to be an incredible weekend of top acts from music and we simply can’t wait for Sheftival to come around.”

Sheftival, spanning a 25-acre site, will feature a mix of music, sport, food, drink and other entertainment.
