Intruder threatened Sheffield grandmother, 75, as she slept in terrifying late-night burglary

A burglar kicked his way into a Sheffield grandmother's house as she slept and threatened her in her own bed.

At around 2.30am, the intruder broke into the 75-year-old's home on Audrey Road by kicking the door down.

He then proceeded to go upstairs and threaten the elderly woman in her own bed before making off with her handbag.

The terrifying late-night burglary happened on Tuesday, May 23.

The man has been described as white, of a stocky build, 5ft 11, English speaking, and to have been wearing a grey tracksuit and a grey scarf around his face.

The woman was not hurt during the reported burglary but the intruder caused damage to the door of the property.
