Introducing new Diocesan secretary

The Bishop of Sheffield has announced the appointment of the city’s next Diocesan Secretary.

Heidi Adcock, a senior civil servant, currently working as a Deputy Director in the Department for Education in Sheffield, will take up her new role on June 15. She will take over from Malcolm Fair, who ir retiring after eight year.

Heidi, who lives in Crosspool with her husband Iain and their family, currently worships at St Columba’s and is active in her local community, as a parent governor at Lydgate Infant School and a volunteer for the Scouts.

Heidi said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the next chapter of renewal and reform across the Sheffield Diocese.

“It is a privilege to be working with Bishop Steven and Bishop Peter, and their inspiring teams, at such an exciting time. As I start my new role and learning journey, I look forward to seeing more of our Diocese, meeting new colleagues and engaging with the invaluable work and ambitious plans for the future.”
