Inspectors find Sheffield secondary school is taking steps to improve
Forge Valley School, in Stannington, was rated as 'requires improvement' following a visit from Ofsted inspectors in April 2017.
During a monitoring visit, inspectors found that the school was improving.

Hide AdThe inspectors highlighted improvements in the effectiveness of leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment and pupils personal development, behaviour and welfare.
Mr Barrowclough, said: “This is a very positive report recognising that Forge Valley continues to improve. This report justifies our improved community reputation, leading to Forge Valley being oversubscribed from September.”
It recommended further action in attendance, action planning and school to school partnerships in order to become ‘good.’
Mr Barrowclough added: "The school has capacity to continue this improvement and the team are fully committed to continuing the journey towards a ‘good’ Ofsted judgement.”

Hide AdThe school became part of the Tapton School Academy Trust in September 2014.
Trust chief executive and director of secondaries, David Dennis, said: "We are delighted that our trust is collaborating and supporting the rapid improvement at Forge Valley School as we endeavour to realise the life chances and dreams of every student.”
