Inquest told of cell death

CORONER Stanley Hooper has opened and adjourned an inquest into the death of an inmate at Doncaster's Moorland Prison.

Stephen Christopher Wright, aged 20, from Hebburn, South Tyneside was found dead in his cell last week.

He was serving a life sentence for killing a homeless man who was sleeping on the streets of Newcastle in April 2005.

Mr Hooper conveyed his deepest sympathies to Mr Wright’s mother Marlene Ford.
