Inquest to be opened into death of man found on Chesterfield path

An inquest is to be opened into the death of a man found collapsed on a path in Chesterfield.

Craig Rutherford, aged 40, of Westbourne Grove, Chesterfield, was found collapsed near to the Tramway public house, off Chatsworth Road, Brampton, in the early hours of Sunday.

The death is not being treated as suspicious but police want to hear from anyone with information.

A file is being prepared for the coroner and an inquest is expected to be opened on Thursday.

A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police were alerted by the ambulance service after a member of the public called for an ambulance.”
