A man from Sheffield died after he was struck by a train at Dronfield railway station.

Peter Dynes, aged 46, of Ormond Road, Jordanthorpe, died on Saturday after being struck by a Plymouth-bound train.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Opening his inquest yesterday, coroner Nigel Anderson said police were investigating if Mr Dynes was unhappy at work.

Mr Dynes’ brother said: “We’d like to send our thoughts to the train driver who had to witness this.”

The inquest was adjourned until a later date.
